VICTORIA HAS THE HIGHEST UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IN AUSTRALIA

Today’s ABS figures confirm that Victoria has the highest unemployment rate of any state in Australia at 6.1%.

Official figures also confirm that Victoria’s unemployment rate has been higher than the national average for 12 consecutive months.

With Labor making Victoria the highest taxing state in the country, it is little wonder
that our unemployment rate is also the highest.

This is a real wake-up call that Victoria’s economy is slipping behind and jobs are at
risk.

Labor has seen cost of living expenses and business costs such as electricity go through the roof, while Daniel Andrews’ 11 new taxes are hitting the economy hard.

We are at risk of seeing more jobs lost to states like NSW, which boasts an unemployment rate of just 5%.

South Australia’s unemployment rate of 5.7% comfortably beats Victoria’s unemployment figures, while Tasmania at 6% is also tracking better.

Daniel Andrews’ boasts about new jobs ring hollow, as they have fallen well short of
keeping up with our state’s population growth.

Since the last election, Victoria’s population has grown by well over 300,000 but job
growth has failed to keep pace.

This is why Victoria has the highest unemployment rate in Australia.
