Women working in not-for-profit groups and organisations in Malvern are being encouraged to apply for a corporate governance training initiative aimed at developing the skills of women as Board Directors Michael O’Brien MP, Member for Malvern said today.
The Coalition Government will expand the Victorian Women’s Governance Scholarship to enable over 100 Victorian women to undertake training in corporate governance.
In partnership with the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the scholarship will allow women to participate in the Company Directors Course.
“Women who are seeking to further develop and enhance their professional directorship careers should take advantage of this opportunity provided by the Coalition Government,” Mr O’Brien said.
“Initiatives such as this are a great opportunity that aims at increasing the representation of women on the boards of Australian companies.”
Eligible applicants will be Directors of not-for-profit organisations that are in receipt of State Government funding.
