Small businesses in the Malvern electorate could be eligible to access a new Victorian Government initiative, Streetlife program, aimed at recognising the contribution made to the economy by Victoria’s retail industry Michael O’Brien MP, Member for Malvern announced.
“Through a series of grants to local businesses, the new Streetlife program provides tangible benefits to small retailers through providing a range of skills, tools and opportunities to improve business operations,” Mr O’Brien said.
Streetlife is a Victorian Government initiative that provides targeted support to small businesses in local shopping precincts to assist them to better attract and retain customers.
Grants of up to $20,000 will be available to local government and business and trader associations to assist key projects driven by local retailers to enhance the ‘retail experience’.
“This program is a great opportunity for business owners in Malvern to boost skills and marketing strategies, generate traffic and sales and build competitive and sustainable businesses within the local community,” Mr O’Brien said.
“Malvern is known for its boutique shopping strips and booming retail community, I therefore strongly encourage all small business owners in the community to visit the Streetlife website for more insight into the grants available through this Victorian Government initiative for improving their business practices.”
