Michael O’Brien MP, Member for Malvern, today announced the opening of applications for the National Youth Week 2014 grants program, in support of youth-organised events and activities.
National Youth Week is Victoria’s largest celebration of young people, aged between 12 and 25, and will be held from 4 – 13 April 2014. The 2014 National Youth Week will incorporate the theme ‘Our Voice. Our Impact’,
“These grants provide the opportunity to celebrate and recognise the value of young people in our communities, by supporting local projects, events and activities organised by our youths,” Mr O’Brien said.
The Victorian Coalition Government, in partnership with the Australian Government is offering young people working in partnership with community based organisations, local government authorities and schools the opportunity to apply for grants up to $2,000.
“These grants are aimed at helping Victoria’s young people by supporting their contributions to the community, and encouraging the growing participation of more than 25,000 youths in the National Youth Week celebrations next April.”
Applications for National Youth Week grants are now open and will close on 20 November, 2013.
