Daniel Andrews’ war on the CFA takes another scalp

The CFA has lost another Chief Officer, just days out from the union-led takeover by Fire Rescue Victoria.

Victorians have seen a minister and CEOs forced out, CFA Board members bullied and sacked, and now the resignation of another Chief under Labor.

At the eleventh hour of the most significant organisational change in CFA’s history, volunteers are again left without a CFA leader to stand up for them.

Daniel Andrews is hell-bent on handing over full control of the CFA to the United Firefighters Union and will stop at nothing to protect and grow his power base.

Hardworking CFA volunteers aren’t getting the respect they deserve from this Andrews Labor Government.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Emergency Services, Nick Wakeling:

“The chaos and dysfunction in Victoria’s fire services continues to go from bad to worse under Andrews.

“This latest resignation adds to the decades of firefighting experience already lost because Daniel Andrews is more interested in playing political games than keeping Victorians safe.

“CFA volunteers risk their lives to keep our community safe, but the Andrews Government is leaving them in the lurch.

“The Liberal Nationals remember the sacrifices that CFA volunteers make, we won’t turn our backs on them.”
