On Tuesday Attorney-General Jill Hennessy treated victims of crime with contempt, causing so much unnecessary pain to those who have already suffered so much.
On Wednesday, she was embroiled in the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission (IBAC) investigation, Operation Sandon, with allegations made at a public hearing she had dealings with Labor powerbroker, former Labor candidate and now lobbyist, Phil Staindl regarding a proposed development in her electorate.
Today, Jill Hennessy has been forced to abandon legislative amendments to the Working with Children Act 2005 because in a recent sitting week, the Attorney-General herself repealed that legislation, as part of the Worker Screening Bill 2020. This Bill received Royal Assent on 4 November and in news to our first law officer, you can’t amend legislation that no longer exists.
It’s becoming increasingly apparent that Jill Hennessy simply isn’t up to her job, let alone any higher office to which she may aspire.
