Labor lackey protects incompetent Health Minister

In a tied 18-to-18 vote in the Upper House, a motion expressing concern about the Labor’s Health Minister’s failure to adequately respond to the COVID-19 crisis has been narrowly defeated.

All voting crossbenchers, except Labor lackey, Animal Justice MP, Andy Meddick voted for the Liberal Nationals’ motion.

The motion read:

That this House —

(1)   expresses concern in the administrative failures of the COVID-19 response overseen by the Minister for Health and the Minister for the Coordination of Health and Human Services – COVID‑19, the Hon Jenny Mikakos MLC, including —

(a)   breaches in hotel quarantine security that has led to widespread community transmissions;

(b)    the catastrophic failures in contact tracing; and

(2)   notes failures in communication, testing regimes and the overall preparedness of COVID-19 to protect Victorian lives and livelihoods.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Health, Georgie Crozier:

“The only thing that saved Minister Mikakos today was the vote of Labor lackey, Andy Meddick.

“The whole of Victoria knows how badly we’ve been failed by Labor’s incompetent Health Minister; she has failed us all miserably.”
