Today in Question Time, Labor’s Minister for Health, Martin Foley confirmed that only “hundreds” of Victoria’s healthcare workers had been fit tested for masks.
With over 3,500 healthcare workers in Victoria already infected by COVID-19, this again demonstrates that the Andrews Labor Government is way behind the eight ball. The Ambulance Union has also confirmed that not one paramedic has been fit tested.
The Andrews Labor Government must guarantee that all healthcare workers in high-risk groups will have access to be suitably fit tested and be immediately provided with enough high-quality N95/P2 masks.
How on earth will our healthcare workers across the state be properly fit tested given DHHS requires every public health service to have established by the 31st October a Respiratory Protection Program, if only “hundreds” have been fit tested as confirmed by the Minister today?
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Health, Georgie Crozier:
“The Andrews Government must act immediately instead of just paying lip service to the protection of Victoria’s hard-working healthcare workers.
“The Andrews Labor Government must ensure our healthcare workers have access to the masks they need and ensure they are properly fitted.”
