Labor’s personalised number plate cash grab

Daniel Andrews’ latest cash grab is to whack a new tax on Victorian personalised number plates.

Hidden deep in Labor’s Transport Legislation Amendment Bill 2020 is an unfair and unnecessary tax on Victorians who choose to personalise their vehicles with customised number plates.

This is just another example of Daniel Andrews trying to squeeze every last dollar out of hardworking Victorians who have already suffered through Labor’s second wave of coronavirus.

The Liberal Nationals will oppose Labor’s new tax on customised number plates. It’s just another unfair tax from what is already the highest taxing government in Australia.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Road Safety and the TAC, Brad Battin MP:

“This is nothing more than a blatant cash grab on hard-working Victorians by Daniel Andrews and Labor.

“By introducing this new tax Daniel Andrews is simply trying rip money out of the pockets of motorists.

“Surely Victorians have suffered enough under Daniel Andrews’ second wave without being slugged with yet another new tax.”
