Liberal Nationals establish Inquiry into Labor’s failed contact tracing system

The Upper House of the Victorian Parliament has today agreed to the Liberal National’s push to establish an inquiry into Victoria’s deeply flawed contact tracing system.

Labor’s failed hotel quarantine program started Victoria’s second wave of coronavirus but it was Labor’s inept contact tracing system that led to widespread community transmission of COVID-19 and prolonged the second wave.

Contact tracing is how you put a ring around the coronavirus and stop it from spreading.

Labor’s failure to implement an effective contact tracing system has contributed to more than 800 Victorians losing their lives.

The families of those who have lost loved ones due to Labor’s incompetence deserve answers.

The social and economic impacts have been widespread and devastating.

Every Victorian has been affected by the failures of Daniel Andrews’ contact tracing system, and every Victorian deserves to know the truth.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Health, Georgie Crozier:

“Victorians deserve to know the truth about Labor’s failures in Victoria’s contact tracing system.

“Daniel Andrews has said Victoria’s contact tracing system is the best in the country, this needs to be put to the test.

“This inquiry will expose the failures of Victoria’s contact tracing system.

“Daniel Andrews has tried to cover up the failings of his contact tracing system but Victorians deserve answers.”
