Chadstone Lacrosse Club in Malvern is one of hundreds of sports and active recreation clubs across Victoria to benefit from the latest round of VicHealth’s 2014-15 Active Club Grants program.
Mr O’Brien said the Chadstone Lacrosse Club has received $1,800 through the grants program which will go towards the purchase of 20 new lacrosse sticks and 20 new goggles for current and new players.
Round 2 of the grants program has delivered a total of $694,000 to 296 clubs across Victoria, providing clubs with up to $3,000 each aimed to make clubs safer and more accessible by funding the purchase of essential equipment and safety items to prevent or manage injuries.
The VicHealth Active Club Grants assist community sport and active recreation clubs and organisations to increase participation opportunities for many more people who may otherwise not be active.
