The Andrews Labor Government has announced that the seven-day lockdown will be extended for another seven days for Metropolitan Melbourne.
This fourth lockdown will remain in place until 11.59 pm, on Thursday 10 June.
But it’s going to go for more than the seven days with Labor already announcing Melburnians won’t be able to travel for the Queen’s Birthday long weekend.
This lockdown has gone from circuit-breaker to heartbreaker.
Labor shouldn’t underestimate how tough this is going to be for so many Victorians:
- For the kids who just want to be able to get back to school and won’t be able to.
- For the small businesses and for their staff who won’t be able to open.
- For people who have had to put off weddings, cancel all sorts of family engagement.
The mental health consequences of this extended lockdown will be really severe.
As the Victorian Liberal Leader, I want to hear your story. My Liberal Nationals team will advocate for you and the millions of other Victorians impacted by the latest Victorian lockdown.
This is not an easy time for anyone but we’ve done this before and we will do it again.
