Daniel Andrews doubles-down on his dud Belt and Road deal

During Question Time in Parliament today, Daniel Andrews refused to back away from his dud Belt and Road deal with the Chinese Communist Government.

The decision of the Chinese Government to smash Victorian farmers with 80 per cent tariffs on barley shows the utter failure of Daniel Andrews’ Belt and Road deal.

The Andrews Government even sought to mislead the media when it claimed that the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade had given its dud deal with the Chinese Government the green light.

Comments attributable to Leader of the Opposition, Michael O’Brien:

“Daniel Andrews should follow the lead of the Victorian Liberal Nationals and scrap his dud Belt and Road deal.

“Daniel Andrews is doing more to try and defend the Chinese Government than he is to defend the interests of Victorian farmers or protect Victorian jobs.

“The Federal Labor Party doesn’t support Belt and Road, unions don’t support Belt and Road and no other state Premier supports Andrews’ dud Belt and Road deal.

“The reason Daniel Andrews is out on his own is because Belt and Road is all one-way traffic – and Victorians are the losers.”
